Welcoming Year 2021 With Hope

It’s only a few more days to welcome the new year. How do you feel about the year 2020? For most people, many things changed of a sudden after the covid-19 started to spread. Some have lost their jobs, some are forced to postpone marriage plans, some failed to achieve their fitness goals before being stopped from going to gym. 


Now, it’s time to gather yourself before entering a brand new year. Let’s pick up where you left off and try to get your goals achieved in the upcoming year 2021. 


Before you go on to write a long list of New Year’s Resolution —which usually fail— let’s ask yourself some questions to understand what you truly want: 


  • How do you feel about yourself right now? 
  • How do you want to feel in the year 2021? 
  • How do you want yourself to look like in the next five years? 


Identify What Troubles Your Mind


What are the things that are making you feel uncomfortable or unhappy right now? Is it your health condition, body appearance or your job status? Let’s identify the things that are bothering your mind and set goals and resolutions to transform them.  


If you are unsatisfied with what you’re earning right now, check out how you can increase your value in the job market. Look for courses, training or activities that can help you to sharpen your job skills. Register yourself with trusted job sites (such as ZOM-IN) to start searching for better opportunities. You can set goals to push yourself to attend more interviews to nail an ideal role soon. 


Split Resolutions Into Baby Steps


When we talk about New Year’s Resolutions, most of us are like making wishes. “I want to be slimmer.” “I want to start dating.” “I want to get a better job.” Therefore, most people cannot achieve their New Year’s Resolutions because action plans are missing. 


Let say if you want to quit smoking in the year 2021, you should start splitting this resolution into baby steps that you can achieve stage by stage. If you quit smoking entirely at once, you may suffer badly from nicotine withdrawal symptoms. Therefore, it’s advisable to seek help from pharmacists or doctors to plot a customised plan for you to start quitting nicotine. 


Find A Balance


Obviously, we need to step out of our comfort zone if we want to be a better, stronger person. However, we must also ensure we won’t feel too stressful or even depressed while executing the plans that we set for ourselves. Or else, it defeats the purpose of setting New Year’s Resolutions. 


The main objective of setting New Year’s Resolutions is to achieve goals that would make you feel healthier and stronger both mentally and physically. Hence, it’s very important that you actually feel contented and happy while executing your plans. 


For examples, if you want to lose weight, choose exercises that you like and select diet options that won’t harm your body. Do not consume uncertified slimming products that may cause side effects. Do not over push yourself to do too much of high intensive exercises to avoid getting hurt.
