We often read very informative articles released by famous research firms from overseas. Do you know that there are some reputable research firms in Malaysia that produce quality articles and studies?

IDEAS (Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs)

Founded on 8 February 2010, IDEAS is a Malaysian libertarian think tank dedicated to promoting market-based solutions to public policy challenges.

As an independent and not-for-profit organization, IDEAS strives to become a cross-partisan think tank. Their purpose is to advance market-based principles without being bound by any party politics, race, or religion.

Their main mission is to improve the level of understanding and acceptance of public policies based on the principles of rule of law, limited government, free markets, and free individuals.

Over the years, their works have received international recognition. For instance, on 21 January 2013, IDEAS was ranked as the 5th best new think tank globally and the best new think tank in Asia in a survey of more than 6500 think tanks in 169 countries by the University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program.

Politics, Foreign Policy, Economy and Finance, Society and Media, Law and Human Rights.

Though they have not been in the market for long, but they have produced a number of good articles and have published two studies
