Are You Satisfied with the Delivery Services?

Online shopping has been popularised among Malaysians. We are more reliant to postal services than at any other time in history. As COVID-19 spreads like wildfire around the world, the postal industry is showing the world its resilience, its determination, and the invaluable role it plays in every society. 

 

Thanks to postal services, people are able to access critical personal protective equipment, testing kits and medications without risking their life to step out from home. Children are also able to continue their schooling from home by receiving their educational materials through posts. 

 

In conjunction with the World Post Day that falls on 9 October every year, we would like to dedicate this article to the postal sector, to create awareness of its role in people’s and businesses’ everyday lives and its contribution to the social and economic development of countries. 

 

Malaysia Consumers’ Thoughts on Delivery Services

 

 

Last week, we had run a pop-up survey on our Instagram account to collect our followers’ thoughts about their online shopping experiences. Based on the 60 responses, 90% of the respondents claimed that they enjoy online shopping. Besides, 90% of the respondents are satisfied with the delivery services of purchases they’ve made online. 

 

Below are some personal thoughts shared by our audiences during the pop-up survey: 

 

“Delivery services have improved a lot lately. Nowadays, most courier service providers support real-time tracking, which we can estimate the arrival time of our parcels.” 

 

“Three-four years back, it’s common to take more than 10 days to receive items you purchased from local online sellers. But nowadays, most orders made within Peninsular Malaysia can be fulfilled within 3-5 days.” 

 

“I had some bad online shopping experiences, but mostly are sellers’ fault. Sometimes the quality of the items was not up to par, sometimes sellers sent wrong items. I’ve learned to be more cautious and now I only shop from trusted sellers and platforms. In terms of delivery, so far I don’t have any negative comment.” 

 

“I think online shopping is very convenient nowadays. Some couriers even notify us with SMS before they are sending the parcels, so you can be prepared to collect the parcels or can reschedule the delivery if you’re not at home. Some couriers also allow you to collect parcels at convenient stores or Mailbox & etc., this is helpful for people who don’t feel comfortable to receive parcels in office.”

ZOM-IN would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members in the postal sector, thanks for making sure all deliveries are being fulfilled in a timely and proper manner. Thanks for providing trustable and reliable services that allow people to stay calm even when we were under Movement Control. 

 

 

At the same time, we would also like to urge everyone to be more prihatin to all the postmen, delivery guys and food delivery riders out there. Don’t be harsh to them when your items or food are not delivered to you on time, especially during peak seasons, peak hours or bad weathers. 

 

If you are really unsatisfied by the services, you may utilise proper channels and methods to complain of your unpleasant experiences. Please avoid to condemn or defame the individual or the brand on social media because that would create more chaos than solving your issues. 

 

Let’s be a rational and smart consumer, embrace and appreciate the transformative changes in the postal services.
