In conjunction with the upcoming Mother’s Day, we would like you to read the story of Michelle Chai from Kintry, a single mum who started baking homemade cookies to satisfy her little girl and ended up founding a business.

The pandemic and lockdowns have affected all businesses, Kintry is not an exception. Although the food industry is allowed to operate, the condition is to cut down the manpower to ensure social distancing. “Our big clients stopped ordering from us because their operations are affected by the MCO,” Michelle shared about her toughest challenge during MCO.

However, Michelle and her team are still trying their best to donate and help others. “We understand that many other people are going through hardships. As long as we could, we genuinely want to help more people to get through this tough time together. Especially, we really want to show our appreciation to all the front-liners.”

Therefore, Kintry made a pledge for every purchase that happened on their website, a portion of proceeds will be donated to purchase PPE for local hospitals. Besides, they are also donating their cookies to hospitals for a quick but nutrient Sahur for the busy front-liners.

Apart from the business, Michelle needs to fulfil her roles as a mother as well as a daughter. Since MCO started, she moved back to her father’s house to take care of his three meals. “Luckily my little angel understands well that mummy is busy keeping the business run, she hardly distracts from work.”

If you love artisanal snacks, or if you’re seeking a meaningful & healthy last-minute Mother’s Day gift, do check out Kintry’s website: www.kintry.co

Part of your purchase will be allocated to help the front-liners!

PS/ Worry not about the cleanliness of the snacks. Kintry has been practising very tight SOP to ensure food hygiene all this while. Since the pandemic, all staffs have their temperature taken every day before and after work.
